Powerful Photos Demonstrate Everyday Racial Microagressions

Latest

Photographer Kiyun asked her friends at Fordham University to “write down an instance of racial microaggression they have faced,” and the results are compelling.

If you’re not familiar with what a microaggression is, they’re surprisingly mundane: what some would call “inoffensive” even. But the reality is that this is how micro aggressions work, by sounding fairly innocuous but carrying a strong racial message. And, as you can tell from Kiyun’s important photos, these shitty, shitty messages stick with people.
