Pop Star Katie Melua Finds a Spider Living in Her Ear
LatestOn the list of many, many irrational fears I have, waking up with a spider and/or spiders living inside my body pretty much tops everything else. Somehow, British pop star Katie Melua managed to live through this nightmare without going completely insane with terror.
On her Instagram page last week, Melua told her followers that she “had a rustling” in her ear for about a week. She finally went to a doctor where they discovered it was a GODDAMN SPIDER that was causing it.
Below is video from the doctor’s office where they first spotted the tiny creature living IN HER EAR AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH:
NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPE.
“Though the thing looked TERRIFYING up-close on the doctor’s cameram once he took him out ( using a micro Hoover ) it was pretty small,” Melua wrote. “And now its in this little test tube, alive and seemingly fine.”
I guess when they find spiders living in your ear now , you get to take it home and hang out with it. Like a roommate you had to find out of desperation on Craigslist because your old roommate ran off to Fort Lauderdale to marry a tattoo artist. (These things happen.)
Melua said the spider “was no hassle at all, apart from the occasional shuffling noises.”
According to the BBC, the number one news source on spiders living in celebrity ears, Melua (who coincidentally has a song called “Spider’s Web” which is not about actual spiders or anything) released the critter into her garden. Melua told fans she believes the spider came from a pair of old headphones she used during a recent flight. And we can officially add one more thing to the list of shit that could possibly happen to me that I will obsessively freak out about from now until the end of time.
