Apparently, we women are really hard to buy watches for. "The problem with buying watches for women is that the issue of timepieces is one of the great faultlines in the whole Mars/Venus relationship thing. Watches are the kind of items that men look to for a little bit of welcome complication; a minute repeater here, a tourbillon there and a perpetual calendar somewhere else...Women, on the other hand, tend to like a watch that tells the time with a degree of reliability and accuracy and, if the watch is being worn with a long dress, there is a requirement that it does so with the assistance of a few carats of diamonds." The only requirement for my watch is that I can read the face. I was devoted to digital for years, but was offered the chance to buy a nice watch with a combination of birthday money and an employee discount. The only one I would even consider was really cool looking, really expensive, and had HUGE numbers so I could always read it easily. Especially since I still have to that "5, 10, 15, 20" counting thing when I'm trying to figure out the time...
