@Lady Skittlehattington: Yeah, my anti-sound of music-ness comes mostly from the fact that I didn't see it until I was 22, after having my best friend go on and on about it for years. If I had seen it at eleven, I would probably adore it, but as it is, my childhood musical cherry went to "Meet Me in St Louis", which I still loooove.
As to Return of the King, I do remember that, at this point. Yes, Peter Jackson deserved the little gold man.
The others were all fine (I love the Oscars. I love movies. All movies make me thrilled and excited), just not great. Except Million Dollar Baby. I don't know why, but I just didn't get the hype. I guess I'm just not a Clint Eastwood gal. I didn't cry (miraculously) = not my favourite. I'm a sucker for overwhelming emotion.
