Palin's Strongest Hint Yet That She'll Run For President

What with all the fresh female wingnuts let loose in Senate campaigns, you could forget the original specimen, Sarah Palin. But she is dropping more hints than ever about a presidential run, including last night to Greta van Susteren.

When van Susteren asked what would make her consider running for president, Palin said she “would offer [herself] up in the name of service to the public,” in the event that “nobody else wanted to step up.”

Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee might dispute her definition of “nobody else” stepping up. She went on,

“A reason to run [for President] is if nobody else were to step up with the solutions that are needed to get the economy back on the right track and to be so committed to our national security that they are going to do all that they can, including fighting those on the extreme left who seem to want to dismantle some of our national security tools that we have in place.

She did, however, say that she could be an unelected advocate (a well-paid one, obviously), which is already working quite well for her.

Asked about Christine O’Donnell, Palin said her youthful utterances didn’t matter, but that opponent Chris Coons’ did, and also that one “Barack Hussein Obama”‘s associations should have been similarly questioned. Nice one, Palin: Never miss an opportunity to remind Fox News viewers that Obama was once a beared Socialist himself in the anti-colonial Kenyan movement. Or something. Brings you back to the days when “palling around with terrorists” seemed like the worst thing that could happen to political discourse. Before it all metastasized.
