Noted Perfumer Britney Spears Now Has a Song Called 'Perfume'

If you’re a fan of Britney Spears’ slower ballads like “Everytime” and “Lucky,” her new song “Perfume” will be a sweet relief from her hard-thumping radio hits. If it’s hard for you to stomach the autotune even in her dance songs, “Perfume” will [insert joke about bad smells].

“Perfume” is “a classic tale” of dating a dude who is probably dating someone else too. “Oh I hate myself, and I feel crazy/Such a classic tale/Current girl friend, ex girlfriend, I’m trying to be cool/Am I being paranoid, am I seeing things?/Am I just insecure?” sings Britney. “I’ll never tell, tell on myself but I hope she smells my perfume.” If her other videos didn’t feature enough blatant product placement for her scents like Fantasy or Radiance, this one will probably going to be just one big spritz.
