Turns out celebri-skinnies can be both ugly and fat on the inside! British researchers are reporting that outwardly-thin people may have more fat deposits inside their bodies — particularly around vulnerable organs like the liver or pancreas — than their visibly-overweight counterparts. For over a decade, Dr. Jimmy Bell of Imperial College, London, has been using MRI machines to create what he calls "fat maps" showing where people store fat inside their bodies, and the pictures aren't pretty. In fact, Bell's data shows that "people who maintain their weight through diet rather than exercise are likely to have major deposits of internal fat, even if they are otherwise slim."

Of the women scanned by Bell and his colleagues, as many as 45% of those with normal BMI scores (20 go 25) actually had excessive levels of internal fat. Among men, the percentage was nearly 60%. Relating the news to what Bell calls "TOFIs" — people who are "thin outside, fat inside" — is rarely uneventful. "The thinner people are, the bigger the surprise," he said, adding the researchers even found TOFIs among people who are professional models.

Awesome. Now we have an actual excuse to call Naomi Campbell a fat bitch.
