Former model-actress Helen Gumpel has accused Bill Cosby of shoving his crotch in her face back in the late 1980s. She told her story during a news conference in Boston on Sunday, where the comedian had just cancelled a concert for Monday.
Gumpel, then known as Helen Selby before she married, was invited to The Cosby Show for what she thought was an audition in 1987. According the Associated Press, she says she was led to Cosby's dressing room where he asked her to sit on a couch and gave her a drink—then he "stood in front of her with his crotch in her face."
Gumpel, who refused Cosby's "advances," said she never though of herself as a victim personally, though her career did suffer.
Her announcement comes on the heels of Cosby canceling two shows at Boston's Wilbur Theater due to weather. Protestors, who were gearing up to picket outside of each show, may've had something to do with the cancellations as well.
Cosby's lawyer Marty Singer did not respond to the AP's request for comment and Cosby's list of accusers sits at over 20 women who say they were either drugged, raped, sexually assaulted or nearly sexually assaulted by the comedian.
