Naeem Khan showed his fall-winter collection yesterday; he says he was inspired by Cabaret and the boudoir — perhaps not in the most subtle manner (the show opened with what was essentially a formal bathrobe), but in a way that beautifully combined elegance and sensuality.

Khan is known for his beading, which was definitely the most dazzling part of this line: the layers of sequins, feathers and embroidery that adorn these dresses (and evening rompers!) show a painstaking, nearly couture level of effort. There was a clear 20s influence in the Deco flourishes and flapper-style dresses, and, of all the collections we’ve seen so far, this is definitely one of the most red-carpet ready.
