Comedienne/actress Mo'Nique was on Oprah yesterday to promote the new Martin Lawrence movie where he doesn't cross-dress in a fat suit. We love her and we figured she'd say some funny shit, but she ended up making everyone — Oprah, the audience, Cedric the Entertainer, us — cry with a moving story about the first time she met O. See, Mo'Nique grew up in Baltimore at a time (the late '70s) when Oprah co-anchored the nightly news and co-hosted her first talk show People Are Talking; she was so inspired by Oprah that she went to school for broadcasting and in 1978, took a class trip to the People Are Talking studio, where she got to shake Oprah's hand and get some life advice that she says she always carried with her.
