Miley Cyrus Is Naked, Covered in Gunk and Hugging a Pig in PAPER

Have you ever wondered what Miley Cyrus would look like if she were naked and hugging a pig? At least one person probably has, and now—thanks to PAPER—everyone is lucky enough to know. Cyrus is currently gracing the cover of the magazine’s summer issue while clutching her friendly-looking pal, and there’s plenty more of her inside (images NSFW).

The cover story offers a brief account of Cyrus’s journey from daughter of a superstar who used to ride dirt bikes around her family’s farm in the nude, to a platinum recording artist who’s currently making headlines with her activism.

…She’s harnessing that influence to counter what she sees as an unacceptable reality: young people being persecuted and cast out for their sexuality. Inspired in part by the death of Leelah Alcorn, a transgender girl who committed suicide in late 2014 after being forced to undergo so-called “conversion therapy,” Cyrus recently announced the Happy Hippie Foundation, a philanthropic venture designed to raise funds and awareness for homeless and LGBT youth. “We can’t keep noticing these kids too late,” she says.

It’s nice to see Cyrus continue promoting the foundation, but let’s be honest — you’re here for the photos. Shot by Paola Kudacki, they’re a striking—and frequently sticky—hodgepodge of postmodernist references, from designers like the Memphis Group to artist and filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky.

But, you know, they’re also just Miley bein’ Miley. This shot shows the pop star flaunting her tattoos and a vaginal accessory that looks like it was purchased from an Etsy shop called “Maribelle’s Beaded Mirkins.”

Miley’s PAPER cover probably won’t break the internet, but it’ll give it something to talk about for at least an afternoon.
