I had the pleasure of meeting the First Lady on Monday at the Cinco de Mayo event at the White (Obama) House and let me just say that she is the warmest person, besides my mom, that I have ever met. My mom was crying the entire time telling her how her dream has now come true coming to the United States under the Bracero Program and to watch such a graceful, decent family in the highest position in the United States. My mom gave her a rosary that was blessed by the Archbishop of San Antoino. It was really nice actually to see someone of the First Lady's stature show such humility and give my mom, someone who growing up was told that her skin color was a bad thing and to go back to Mexico since she was an undocumented worker and joined to military in order to stay, something as simple as a hug.
I have always had respect for the First Lady; I worked for the campaign for 21 months and will glady work again if my principal allows me time off in 3 years for this wonderful family to keep their present address.
