Faced with a growing avalanche of criticism over her divided national loyalty, Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann now says she'll renounce her Swiss citizenship so that she can focus 100% of her attention on making America terrible.

Bachmann's technically been a dual citizen since 1978, when she married her Swiss Mister Marcus, who was the son of Swiss immigrants. But it wasn't until earlier this week that her divided loyalty earned notice by the American media, and of coursed those vultures relished the opportunity to question Bachmann's patriotism. Bachmann's duel citizenship is especially delicious when you consider how long she kept waving the "OBAMA IS KENYAN!" flag around like it was on fire.

But today, she announced that she wrote a letter to the Swiss consulate asking that her citizenship be withdrawn, saying in a hyperbole laden statement worthy of a Stephen Colbert sign off,

I took this action because I want to make it perfectly clear: I was born in America and I am a proud American citizen. I am, and always have been, 100 percent committed to our United States Constitution and the United States of America. As the daughter of an Air Force veteran, stepdaughter of an Army veteran and sister of a Navy veteran, I am proud of my allegiance to the greatest nation the world has ever known.

The Swiss have remained characteristically tight-lipped on the matter.

Can some of y'all Jezzies please share a gif that you think accurately represents the Swiss consulate's reaction to that letter? I am working late and it would make my day.
