In a recent podcast interview, Mel B says the rumored Spice Girls reunion is seriously close to happening, and she also recalls the time she beat up a member of a certain memorable ’90s girl group back in the day whose hits include “Never Ever.”
Appearing on the podcast Allegedly, hosted by comedian Theo Von and filmmaker/journalist Matthew Cole, Mel B talked about her experience judging and working alongside Howard Stern (she adores him) on America’s Got Talent and, most important, whether there will be a real Spice Girls reunion in our lifetime.
“We are in talks with each other closely about this reunion. So until there’s something official to say, there’s no point saying anything,” says Mel B. “I do feel like it’s getting closer and closer to that point... I’ve been trying to get those bitches back together for years!”
Mel also mentions the Spice Girls diary that’s currently in her possession and which she’s teased us about before. “I used to have all the girls write their notes in it,” she says, joking that it’s “worth billions.” Commenting on Victoria and David Beckham’s lifestyle, Mel B says, “She worked hard for it. She deserves that lifestyle. She’s very down to earth. She’s just a little bit of a bitch to others, but she has a good sense of humor.”

Skipping forward to the highlight of this interview, Mel B is asked whether she’s ever had an arch nemesis, and it’s none other than a member of that girl group who sang that one song you forgot the name of but you love it again once you hear it.
“There was this girl group called All Saints. And I had already beaten up one of them in the bathroom, the black girl Shaznay,” says Mel. “She started giving me attitude so I went in the bathroom and tried to rip her weave off. And she chokes me and then we kinda got split up but I won. The funny thing is they just brought out a new record last week. It’s really good!”
It’s pretty good.
