Meghan McCain Doesn't Understand Why Anyone Is Still Talking About Brett Kavanaugh

Politics

Meghan McCain and Abby Huntsman, the most reliably conservative co-hosts of The View, think that people should have a little more sympathy for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who by all appearances is doing just fine.

It didn’t take long after The View went live on Monday morning for the hosts to get worked up over the latest Kavanaugh update from the New York Times
and a new book by reporters Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly. The Times piece reveals a third potential incident of Kavanaugh non-consensually exposing himself to a woman while at Yale and has led some to call for the Justice’s impeachment from the Supreme Court. It also reported that the FBI failed to properly investigate the allegations in the first place.

From the Times:

Ms. [Deborah] Ramirez’s legal team gave the F.B.I. a list of at least 25 individuals who may have had corroborating evidence. But the bureau — in its supplemental background investigation—interviewed none of them, though we learned many of these potential witnesses tried in vain to reach the F.B.I. on their own.

Instead of focusing on the significance of this third allegation about Kavanaugh and the total failure of the FBI to take his conduct seriously, Abby Huntsman began the discussion by criticizing the Times’ standards of reporting, lamenting that the piece was “sloppy” and “lazy,” while also imploring journalists to not “drag other people’s lives through the mud” and think about Kavanaugh’s daughters.

Meghan McCain added onto Huntsman’s critique, arguing that continuing to re-litigate Kavanaugh’s behavior was not a “winning strategy” for Democrats, so essentially why should they even bother?

Sunny Hostin, the only voice of reason at this god-foresaken table, reminded her co-hosts and the audience that we wouldn’t need to be talking about Kavanaugh in this way if the FBI had actually conducted a thorough investigation in the first place. Watch the video above for more of The View’s mind-numbing Kavanaugh discussion.
