Mariah Carey Performs 'Always Be My Baby' in Classic Mariah Fashion

It was 18 years ago today that “Always Be My Baby” peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, so the fan favorite was a great choice for Mimi to perform live this morning on Today.

And she did all her classic Mariah-isms, with the twinkly fingers and pronunciation of “darling” as “dah-ling.” She was promoting the upcoming release of her first studio album in four years, Me. I am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse. The clunky title will be released May 27 followed by a primetime special on NBC on May 31.
