Dress rehearsals: nice and cute and a good way to get pepped for the big show in theory, but not necessary if you’re one Mariah Carey, who blew off the final rehearsal scheduled before tonight’s Billboard Music Awards.
Which, I guess, if you’re someone who’s done this for most of your life, a dress rehearsal ain’t shit—but according to the very on-point sources at TMZ, the nervousness about her being MIA has more to do with the fact that she last performed at the show 17 years ago.
Either way—shrug. Everything seems to be coming up Mimi lately, and I have no doubt she’ll handle snafus, if any, with glitter and grace.

And if nothing else? Mariah has a big fan in Rita Ora, who took to Instagram to show off a snap with the songstress. I doubt Rita considers herself to be one of Mariah’s “lambs,” per se, but if she’s a true fan—which it seems like she is—she’s likely got an old Emotions cassette stashed somewhere at her parents’ house.
