Manhattan Madam Says Strauss-Kahn Was A "Rough" Client

Dominique Strauss-Kahn has officially resigned as head of the International Monetary Fund. And now “Manhattan Madam” Kristin Davis says he was one of her clients — and a rough one at that.

According to ABC, Strauss-Kahn resigned by letter yesterday. It’s none too soon, it seems, as allegations against him keep flying. A 2010 book that accused him of assaulting a maid in Mexico is getting renewed attention. And now Davis, who allegedly provided call girls for Eliot Spitzer, among others, says Strauss-Kahn was one of her clients. She adds,

He wanted an ‘All-American girl’, with a fresh face, from the mid-West. A girl in January 2006 complained he was rough and angry, and said she didn’t want to see him again.

Davis says another prostitute complained about DSK’s “roughness” in September 2006: “She told me not to send any new girls to him.” Just to be clear, the fact that the former IMF head may have visited sex workers doesn’t say anything about the likelihood of his committing sexual assault. His reputation for roughness, if true, is more disturbing — it may give the lie to claims by his friends that he was a “seducer” but would never turn violent. Still, unless Davis takes the stand, her allegations are ultimately a side issue where his current sexual assault trial is concerned. In that matter, one court of public opinion has already acquitted him: according to ABC, one poll shows a full 60% of French people think the maid set him up.
