- Alexander McQueen creative director Sarah Burton can’t talk to the press about designing Kate Middleton‘s wedding dress, but she did talk to several shoppers at a Saks event. Those shoppers, subsequently interviewed by reporters, say that Burton found Middleton and her sister Pippa to be “very down-to-earth” and described The Dress as “a collaboration.” Trying to hide from cameras while rushing into Middleton’s hotel the day before the wedding was “fun,” Burton said. Shopper Norah Lawlor said, “She said the princess was one of the most lovely women she has ever met and she was really low maintenance.
