Madewell's Sightseer Sandals Are Trying to Kill You

Latest

Madewell’s sandals are trying to kill you. JK, but also, kinda. Let’s just say if you own their Sightseers you should return them.

The J.Crew company has recalled over 50,000 pairs of the sandal, according to WWD, because the Sightseers are hella dangerous. Why? Well, the “metal shank can dislodge and break through the bottom of the outsole, posing a risk of falling.”

Though no injuries have been reported, Madewell is asking consumers to bring their sketchy shoes back to the nearest store for a full refund. There are a number of different styles of Sightseers, so here’s a comprehensive list of the types that are up for a refund, from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission:

The specific styles of the Sightseer range are the C0275 Knotted Slide Sandal, C0276 T-strap Thong Sandal in black leather, C0277 T-strap Thong Sandal in metallic colorblock, C0278 Buckle Gladiator Sandal, C0279 Slide Sandal, C1105 Crisscross Sandal, C5893 T-strap Toe-Loop Sandal, C5895 Ankle-wrap Sandal in Shiny Silver, C5897 Lace-up sandal and C6090 Ankle-Wrap sandal in Metallic Sand.

Good luck out there, ladies.
