Liz Claiborne — the designer whose clothing we coveted after experimenting with Esprit, Benetton and various other retailers popular among middle-class, '80s era youth — has died, CNN is reporting. Nothing up on the wires yet but we'll have Jenny do an appropriate visual eulogy whenever she gets back from picking up her brown rice, boiled seaweed and pureed plums, or whatever the hell it is that she eats.
I love her clothes and it was unfortunate that, like Tommy Hilfiger, she got that urban myth attached to her. The only difference being, I can't stand Tommy Hilfiger. But I look amazing in some Liz. Not to mention it usually feels as soft as it looks.
