Jessie Ware knows how to make a sweet love song that hits on genuine emotions but strips out all the sappy elements. “Till the End,” from the soundtrack of Me Before You, is along those lines, gentle, romantic and soulfully understated.
Ware says she was eager to contribute to the soundtrack for the film—which stars Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin—after reading the source novel, Jojo Moyes’ Me Before You, on her honeymoon. “To be asked to be in the film’s soundtrack was really touching, as I couldn’t put the book down when I read it,” she told Elle. “It’s a song that means a lot to me.”
And the song may be worth more attention than the movie, which Variety describes as “The Intouchables with more romance and less chemistry, crossbred with a far tamer version of Pretty Woman” in an unfavorable review. This Jessie Ware song will probably be the best thing to come from it. Listen here.
