Let's Talk About Sex (and the City), Baby

After recording this week’s episode of Dirtcast, we walked out of the studio and passed through an elaborate film set being shot on the steps of the building next to us. Coincidentally—or was it fate?—the famous party at the heart of the cluster was none other than our girl, Sarah Jessica Parker: A fitting celebrity sighting for a very special Dirtcast.

This week, Jezebel’s Joanna Rothkopf and Bobby Finger joined us for a conversation about the show that, for better or worse, changed the course of American pop culture and the way women are portrayed on television forever.

Come for the discussion, stay for the puns, and hang around for a wide range of Steve impersonations. We also discuss the terror of Aidan, his careless way with Pete and why, even though Sarah Jessica Parker is a fantastic actress, Carrie Bradshaw is a terrible friend. Sounds like your usual Saturday night, right? Cosmos, Magnolia cupcakes, Manolos, and all.

DirtCast can be found on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, Google Play, NPR One and iHeart Media.

Thanks to Bobby Finger and Joanna Rothkopf. Our show is produced by Levi Sharpe. Mandana Mofidi is our Executive Director of Audio. Our theme music is by Stuart Wood. This episode was mixed by Jamie Collazzo.
