Let's Call The Whole Thing Off: A Phone Sex Operator's Live-Tweets

Latest

When phone sex operator becomes a stock job in Valentine’s Day, you know the inside story on it has lost some of its edge. But has it been told on Twitter yet?

For fans of sex worker confessionals, TeleEroticist comes from a Gawker-reading Big Love fan who updates about her calls in real time and responds to readers’ Tweets. There is something old-new about all this (she herself marvels that people will still pay to get off when the Internet exists, and anyway, who still talks on the phone?).

The feed is only a week old, but it already features plenty of insight into the vast range of (apparently all male) sexual desires, as TeleEroticist faithfully reports everything that comes in over the various lines. Some of it is pretty funny:

Then there are the truly weird fetishes.

And some of it’s outright disturbing, all ironic distance aside:

But there appears to be one way in which the TeleEroticist’s job is very much like most other “women’s work”:

You don’t have to be a sex worker to get fucked, of course, but it sure makes for some ready puns.
