When Precious director Lee Daniels stopped by The Daily Show last night, Mariah Carey’s repertoire wasn’t the only thing being dissed.

That is to say, Jon Stewart was trashing his own acting career, (Half Baked! Big Daddy!) a fond habit of his. He also threatened to return to host the Oscars if Mo’Nique doesn’t win. Can’t we have this one both ways?

Helen Mirren does not come off terribly well in this anecdote, but it might be Daniels’ notoriously histrionic narration.

Stewart repeatedly used the word “dark,” to describe Precious, which Daniels didn’t seem too thrilled about.
