Korean Court Sensibly Rules That Calling Someone 'Bald' Isn't Defamation

Latest

A South Korean man was fined $265 for calling another man “bald” in an online chat session, after “an investigation” revealed that the victim was not bald after all. But the country’s Supreme Court has now overturned the conviction, because “the word ‘bald head’ might have been used to insult the plaintiff, but we cannot say from an objective viewpoint that it implies damage to the social status or reputation of people.” Makes sense to us — everybody knows bald can be sexy.
