A new autopsy of Drew Peterson's third wife, Kathleen Savio, found that she did not die accidentally, as was previously believed, but was murdered.

Savio and Peterson were in the midst of a bitter divorce in 2004 when Savio was found dead in her bathtub with a 1-inch laceration on the back of her head. At the time, the coroner believed the cause of death to be an accidental bathtub drowning, but the most recent autopsy shows signs of a struggle, including bruises on her extremities, abdomen and buttocks, and five scraping abrasions.

Forensic pathologist Michael Baden ruled the death a homicide. Peterson, who pleaded not guilty to the murder of Savio in May, remains in jail, awaiting trial.

If I've learned anything from L&O and all it's spin offs (esp SVU) it's that a dead body doesn't bruise post-mortem.

Also, it never ceases to amaze me that individuals who exhibit sociopathic tendencies are often so charismatic. I'm automatically thinking of Peterson being Manson-esque. Violent, crazy men who nevertheless get women to follow/love/worship them.
