  • Kate Moss has beauty advice: “Moisturise, sleep — and happiness: that’s a beauty secret. I know I look different when I’m happy.” Perhaps because you can’t bottle feeling good, she’d like instead to expand into a line of cosmetics. [ToL]

  • One effect of the return of 80s and 90s supermodels to the advertising fore is an increasing number of ads that pair an older woman with a younger man. Helena Christensen, Claudia Schiffer, and Naomi Campbell have all starred in such campaigns. Karl Lagerfeld snapped Jerry Hall canoodling with Baptiste Giabiconi for his spring Chanel accessories lookbook, Demi Moore and an anonymous male model are the new faces of Helena Rubinstein, and Madonna deserves a category here all of her own. And who can forget Rene Russo‘s thing for Brian Atwood? Perhaps the industry is realizing that it’s women in their 30s and 40s who might have the income to drop $40 on a frikking mascara, and not the teenagers who normally feature in high-end ads. Michelle Obama was not mentioned on either list, which is surprising given Stone, though a Republican operative, sees style as a nonpartisan issue. [StoneZone]

  • The New York Daily News noticed the jeggings trend — hideous jean-legging Frankenfashions that have become popular despite the fact they feature something we can only call trompe l’oeil acid wash — and sent a brave staffer out to test-drive three pairs. Lots of men looked at her butt. [NYDN]
  • Apparently, changes in diet mean women are increasingly needing larger shoe sizes — up to a British size 9 and 10, an American 11 and 12. The Daily Mail says this is because we’re all really fat, but then lists a variety of extremely tall and thin women as flag-bearers for the bigfooted cause, like 6′ Macy Gray and 5’10” Nicole Kidman.
