Just Like We Asked: Meghan Trainor Is Writing a Song for Peanuts Movie

Latest

Meghan “All About That Bass” Trainor is contributing a song to the upcoming Peanuts movie. It is, according to People magazine, “all about letting go of your insecurities and embracing your true self on the dance floor.”

They wanted a song about confidence and knew I was good at writing those. I feel better when I’m onstage dancing and having fun, so I wrote about that!” Trainor informed People in a brief Q&A. Asked whether she was a fan growing up, she replied: “My grandma always had it on; she always had a lot of cartoons on. I was super-duper young, but I do remember when the show was on – it was huge!” She’d want to be Charlie Brown’s friend, “because I felt so bad for him in some parts. I’m probably the person that would go make sure he’s all right. We would be best friends.” It’s unclear whether she’ll actually appear in the movie, but the film’s animators did give her the full Peanuts treatment.

Feeling very confident that the new movie will capture the undercurrent of Midwestern existential angst flowing through Peanuts.
