I laugh EVERY DAMN TIME someone from the U.K. or Republic of Ireland says 'wee' seriously. I can't help it. I was in a London hospital (bless your NHS!) and the cutest Irish nurse that was trying to help me through sobbing asked very sincerely if I needed a wee, and it made me burst out laughing. It is just something so out of my U.S. vernacular and it sounds so cute I can't stand it.

Anyone else? Are there U.S. terms that are endearing to other English-speaking countries?
