Jon Hamm, Questlove Star in New White House PSA Against Sex Assault

In May, as part of their campaign to stop sexual assault on college campuses, the White House released a PSA starring Daniel Craig and others encouraging men to prevent sexual assault. They’ve now created a whole new website about the endeavor, as well as a new commercial starring Jon Hamm, Questlove, Kerry Washington and many others.

It’s On Us” is the White House’s “new public awareness and action campaign designed to prevent sexual assault at colleges and universities, change the culture on our campuses, and better engage men in this effort,” the Obama Administration said in a press release. They’re encouraging people to sign the following pledge:

To recognize that non-consensual sex is sexual assault.
To identify situations in which sexual assault may occur.
To intervene in situations where consent has not or cannot be given.
To create an environment in which sexual assault is unacceptable and survivors are supported.

The website also lets people change their social media profiles to support the campaign and includes resources for better understanding and preventing sexual assault.

“It’s on us to be role models for how men treat women,” says Kevin Love in his commercial. “It’s on us to never blame the victim” says Questlove. “It’s on us to do something, anything, to keep an assault from happening,” says Jon Hamm. “It’s on us to recognize that if someone doesn’t or can’t consent, it’s rape,” says Rose Byrne. In addition to these celebrities, a number of other partners have joined the cause, from MTV to the NCAA to RAINN.

“This is a personal priority for the President, for the Vice President, and for every single one of us who serve this Administration every day — as husbands and wives, as fathers and mothers, friends, and, most fundamentally, as Americans who know we can do better, and are willing to step up to create the environment we want to see,” wrote Jeff Zients, the Director of the National Economic Council, in a blog post.
