Jimmy Kimmel: ‘What Makes You Think’ Donald Trump Cares About Black People? Kanye West: ‘o_O’

Kanye West was on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday night, and guess what: he talked about his support for Donald Trump! West talked about other things, too, like his new album, his wife, and the struggles he faced at the beginning of his career, but let’s be honest, Donald Trump’s disgusting orange shadow blocks out everything else. So lets get to it.

After expressing his support for Trump and explaining that wearing the MAGA hat in those infamous photographs represented “overcoming fear” and showing off his true self to the world “no matter what anyone” says (“If I’m afraid to be me, I’m no longer Ye”), he went on a tangent about… I don’t know! Something about schools needing to teach children how to balance their checkbooks and rambunctious 2-year-old children and simulations and a “wall full of coffee tables” that are “calculating you into your career choice.” To tell you the truth, I didn’t care enough to pay attention.

But when he moves on to a truly lame—wait, more than lame, it’s stupid as hell—critique of people who attack Trump by saying things like, “Why not try love,” and, “One by one by one we can diffuse this nuclear bomb of hate… by thinking of everyone as our family,” Kimmel interrupts him, saying:

I think that’s a beautiful thought, but in literal terms, there are families being torn apart at the border of this country. There are literally families being torn apart as a result of what this president is doing… Whether we like his personality or not, his actions are really what matter. You so famously and so powerfully said, ‘George Bush doesn’t care about black people.’ It makes me wonder what makes you think that Donald Trump does — or any people at all?
