@BAngieB: Not that it matters BUT, for the record, MM was actually quite small. If you try on 50s clothes, you'll see their 14—the # people tend to quote when explaining how we used to like full-figured women—was about an 8, even a 6. (Why? I DON'T KNOW WHY. Why don't they have size 9's anymore?)
Mariah Carey—additional info I have no idea why I know—bought the JFK sewn-together Happy-birthday-Mr. Etc. gown and was sorely disappointed that she couldn't fit into it.
That said, while SJP size 0's reign, a true size 8 has philosophically become an Anne Taylor 14 anyway. Rock on plenitude.
