Somebody emailed TMZ to point out that the picture of John F. Kennedy sunning himself while two naked ladies leap into the water may actually be from a Playboy photo shoot.

A rep from Playboy confirms that the image did run in one of its 1967 issues, and it was originally published in color. However, the Smoking Gun has a memo from FBI officials regarding the "photo that could have changed history." Apparently, Kennedy's "'extracurricular activities' were a standard joke around the Senate Office Building." • Professor of bacteriology Hugh Pennington says that hospital faucets are often crawling with bacteria, and that washing (which the Telegraph humorously mis-types as "washiung") your hands may actually spread disease. He suggests that hospitals replace hand taps with automatic wash basins, something that many slaughterhouses have already done. • Today in horrible news: A 29-year-old man from Seattle reportedly shot and killed his baby daughter and girlfriend because he was unable to bond with the child. He blamed this on the fact that "she wasn't born a boy." • California researchers report that many women quit breastfeeding early (before six months) because of pressure to return to work. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommend that women breastfeed exclusively for the first six months, and continue breast-feeding (along with some formula) for the first year of life. However, many women are only able to take six weeks or less of maternity leave, which makes breastfeeding for the entire six months much more difficult. • The Daily Mail reports that women are buying way too much clothing, some of which they will never wear. The tone is annoyingly bitches be shoppin'! but still something to keep in mind this post-holiday sale season. • A Turkish archeologist has requested that Italy return the bones of Saint Nicolas - aka Santa Claus - to their original resting place in Demre, Turkey. He claims that St Nic made it clear during his lifetime that he wanted to be buried in his hometown. • Roman Polanski wants to thank all of his supporters for giving him "comfort and reasons to hope" while he was locked away in a Swiss prison. In his letter to french philosopher Bernard-Henri Levy, he writes: "I would like every one of them to know how heartening it is, when one is locked up in a cell, to hear this murmur of human voices and of solidarity in the morning mail. In the darkest moments, each of their notes has been a source of comfort and hope." • A professor from Duke claims he has figured out why we find the "golden ratio" so pleasing. What we call "beauty" may be nothing more than an appreciation made possible by our tendency to scan horizontally, rather than vertically. • In other art news, scholar and curator Martin Bailey has a theory as to why van Gogh sliced off his ear. He believes it might have had something to do with his brother's impending nuptials. Van Gogh feared that he might lose his support, both financially and emotionally, which may have lead to the act of self-mutilation. •

How great would it be if JFK displayed the photo as a joke because somebody at Playboy noticed the man looked like him and sent him the photo.
