Is Fifty Shades of Grey Doing Reshoots Due to Crap Chemistry?

Fifty Shades of Grey is doing reshoots—just four months before the movie’s scheduled Valentine’s Day debut. Cutting it a little close, aren’t they? Apparently they’re having SEX PROBLEMS.

The latest edition of U.S. Weekly does some major shit-stirring re: the reshoots, suggesting that they’re trying to pump some additional life into the all-important sex scenes:

Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan are reshooting steaming liasons for February’s Fifty Shades of Grey after producers thought the footage didn’t feel “passionate,” says a film source. The turnoff, says the insider, is the chemistry between Johnson’s innocent Anastasia Steele and Dornan’s kinky Christian Grey. “Dakota isn’t coming off sexy enough,” says a second source. “Ana needs to be naive, not a dishrag.”

A Universal rep vowed that “no one should question the heat or intensity of our actors,” and another source told E! producers were happy so far and mostly shooting filler. But they have been protesting awfully hard about the unbearable hotness of Dornan. And it’s not poor Dakota Johnson’s fault that the book’s protagonists have all the sizzle of a dead mackerel. Sex scenes are hard enough when you aren’t working from thoroughly charmless source material.

Regardless, this project is shaping up to become the most delightful (and dangerous) drinking game the world has ever known.
