Currently being shopped around to various TV networks: an adaptation of Jonathan Franzen’s Purity, starring none other than James Bond himself.

That’s according to Deadline, explaining that the plan is 20 episodes, though it could go longer. Showtime, FX, Netflix, Hulu and Amazon have all reportedly gotten a look. Scott Rubin, who worked with Craig on The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, is on board as producer and Todd Field is working on the script with the Franz. (Let’s start calling him “the Franz,” he’ll love that.) Deadline says:

Written by Field, I hear Purity was originally envisioned as a feature. The project, first reported by Variety, is descried [sic] as a dark comedy. It centers on Pip, a young American woman who does not know who she is, and Andreas, a charismatic German provocateur, the role Craig is expected to play. He heads a South America-based organization that traffics in all the secrets of the world; Pip gets an internship there in search of her identity.

Hope there are some fun and cool sex scenes!
