In the wake of the summits regarding a lack of ethnic diversity on fashion runways being held by Bethann Hardison, the spotlight is on casting directors, reports the Wall Street Journal. Jennifer Venditti, who helps designers find models for runway shows, recently had a client's stylist say he "didn't need" a second black model because they already had one. Ms. Venditti pressed, "They're both beautiful. Why can't you have two?" As we cover fashion week (and start off Black History Month), we'll be keeping an eye out for models of color; stay tuned.
