RIP...Also there was a foiled school shooting in Oklahoma yesterday by another kinda white guy. He was part Native-American so I guess I can let him off the hook? He had light skin and planned to shoot up a school so I'm still wary...

Fun fact on a not-so-fun day of national self-contemplation about gun reform that a lot of us have been screaming about for decades: Native Americans were categorized as white in initial U.S. government censuses in the 1870s b/c the definition of white then and for a long time after was "not-black" and "not-asian"

Circa roughly 1970s many "tribal units" fought the designation to better use their shared but different pasts of discrimination, rape, and disenfranchisement to try to press the federal government into helping address sins including land left, murder, and outright child rape in government sanctioned religious boarding schools.

(I'm a fun guy to go to a party with...let me tell ya)
