In Lieu of a Response to Don Lemon, Kevin Hart Heads to Instagram to Define 'Growth' 

Yesterday, CNN’s Don Lemon posted an emotional response to Kevin Hart’s interview with Ellen Degeneres, saying that he hadn’t seen “any meaningful outreach to the LGBT community” from Hart. Today, Hart seemed to respond in an Instagram post that focused on the definition of the word “growth.”

Hart’s Instagram photo explains that basketball players, teachers, and architects, among others, all have to learn to do their jobs, and the caption reads: “You can’t change without a understanding of what GROWTH means.”

In his video, Lemon urges Hart to use this moment and his platform to help change attitudes toward the LGBTQ community: “Someone like Kevin Hart, with one of the biggest megaphones in the entire world, can be a leader, the ultimate change agent.”

Lemon notes that both Vulture and CNN have tried and failed to find the apology Hart has previously mentioned, though he also says that “Apologizing and moving on does not make the world a better place for people who are gay or people who are transgender, being an ally does.”
