In a completely obnoxious letter to the NYT Book Review editor, we learn a thing or two about the art of "oral interp."
Why pick on this letter in particular? Yeah, 'oral interp' is pretty bad, it's pedantic, but I didn't find it especially obnoxious.
I love a well-read audio book, BTW. Audio adds a dimension to many books that make them much more accessible for me. Different from reading print, but wonderful in its own way. And I have tons of respect for good readers; they really are voice actors.
