Hillary Clinton Jokes About Calling Her Book The Scrunchie Chronicles

Latest

Hard Choices may be the title Hillary Clinton eventually settled on for her forthcoming memoirs, but the former Secretary of State said recently that another more fun title could have (and, in my humble opinion, should have) made the cut: The Scrunchie Chronicles.

The Title That Wasn’t actually wasn’t even close to emblazoning the cover of the book with the title that sounds like deliberately double entendre-y bait for late night TV hosts. In fact, The Scrunchie Chronicles was suggested by a reader of the Washington Post. In a sneak peak Author’s Note, released today, Clinton writes,

“When I began this book, shortly after leaving the State Department, I considered a number of titles. Helpfully, the Washington Post asked its readers to send in suggestions. One proposed ‘It Takes a World,’ a fitting sequel to ‘It Takes a Village.’ My favorite was ‘The Scrunchie Chronicles: 112 Countries and It’s Still All about My Hair.'”

Imagine the Deluxe HC-branded scrunchie edition that now will never be.

Of course, this means that if she does run for President in 2016 (and if there’s any justice still left in this morally bankrupt world of ours), we should and will fully expect the Clinton campaign to offer Hillary Clinton scrunchies for purchase in its online store. Or as a giveaway for early supporters who have been a little bit in awe of Hillary Clinton ever since she shook their hand at a county fair in Iowa, when they were an 8 year old girl in 1992. Hint. Hint.
