Here's the Trailer for Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon's 007 Parody, The Spy Who Dumped Me

Entertainment

The first trailer for Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon’s breakup comedy that’s also a James Bond-style thriller and parody of the same was released on Wednesday. It looks fine for a summer movie I don’t think I’ll see but might end up watching nonetheless because August is hot.

In The Spy Who Dumped Me, Kunis and McKinnon play friends—I’m guessing with what would pass for regular jobs, dating profiles, and senses of humor—whose lives are forever changed when Kunis’s character’s ex, played by Justin Theroux, shows up to inform her he’s a CIA agent being threatened by assassins, who are now after her, because they were once boyfriend-girlfriend. Or something.

Life deteriorates quickly, and before long she and her curiously solicitous friend are eating a flash drive and poorly handling a stick shift (they jet to Europe!). There are explosions, interrogations, circus performances, and jokes at inappropriate times that serve to heighten the absurdity of the genre.

But did he at least also love her?

The Spy Who Dumped Me arrives in theaters on August 3. Watch the trailer below.
