Thus far, the 2014 Olympic Games have been dominated by talk not of the incredible physical prowess on display from athletes around the world, but of the many failures of host city Sochi, Russia. Unsafe arena conditions, Bob Costas’ eye infection, stray dogs crashing the opening ceremonies, hotels with construction so shoddy that people are getting locked in bathrooms and tap water that isn’t safe to put on your skin — it’s all happening in Mother Russia.
