Here Is a Gloriously Retro 8-Bit Version of Mean Girls

Cinematic classic Mean Girls turns ten this year. In celebration, here's the movie reimagined as an 8-bit video game. Because why wouldn't you want a version that looks like The Legend of Zelda:On Wednesdays We Wear Pink?

The video comes via Time. The creators at Cinefix managed to distill the movie down into four and a half minutes, then translate the plot into a series of achievements like: Level Up! You are now plastic. I'd call for a playable version, but who am I kidding? Anybody who escaped high school the first time likely has zero desire to relive the experience—even as an 8-bit video game. The hell with that.

I'm calling shenanigans. This looks closer to an old x86 MS-DOS or Amiga game in terms of graphical and audio fidelity.

I am saddened by all of you for not appreciating our wonderful non-NES/Master System heritage.

Here's to you, Amiga gaming and SCUMM games.
