Fans of "Ur So Gay" and "I Kissed a Girl," as well as Katy Perry's random geisha performance at the American Music Awards, are in luck. The singer has more stupidly offensive fare to foist upon us. This time she faces backlash for featuring a man wearing an Allah pendant who disintegrates into sand upon her command.
After eagle-eyed viewer Shazad Iqbal spotted the pendant, he put up a petition on Change.org asking Youtube to remove the video.
As excerpted from the Change.org page:
'Blasphemy is clearly conveyed in the video, since Katy Perry (who appears to be representing an opposition of God) engulfs the believer and the word God in flames.
'This is the reason for lodging the petition so that people from different walks of life, different religions and from different parts of the world, agree that the video promotes blasphemy.
'Using the name of God in an irrelevant and distasteful manner would be considered inappropriate by any religion '
The petition currently has over 45,000 signatures.
