Harvard's Hasty Pudding Names Chris Pratt Man of the Year

Chris Pratt was named the Hasty Pudding 2015 Man of the Year, making him the second Parks and Recreation star this year to be honored by the historic comedy group.

The news of Pratt’s award comes on the heels of the announcement that Amy Poehler had been picked as the 2015 Hasty Pudding Woman of the Year. This means Hasty Pudding Theatricals is keeping its annual honors within the Parks and Recreation swept the Hasty Pudding awards for this year which is pretty cool for the series’ fans. Via The Hollywood Reporter:

Pratt, who plays Andy Dwyer on the NBC sitcom, had a breakout 2014, starring inGuardians of the Galaxy and lending his voice to The Lego Movie, both box-office hits. Pratt will next appear in Universal’s Jurassic World, which is set to hit theaters in June.
“We vehemently deny that the members of the Hasty Pudding Theatricals are obsessed with Parks and Recreation,” Hasty Pudding president Jason Hellerstein said in a statement. “There is absolutely no basis to the rumors of ritualistic weekly viewings of the show at the Hasty Pudding Clubhouse. … Joking aside, Chris Pratt’s recent achievements as an actor are outstanding and we could not be more thrilled to host him and celebrate his talent as only the Pudding can.”

Harvard University’s Hasty Pudding is the oldest theater organization in the United States. Every year they pick one man and woman who “who have made lasting and impressive contributions to the world of entertainment.”

The festivities to honor Pratt are set for Feb. 6, when he will roasted at the home of Hasty Pudding, Farkas Hall in Harvard Square.
