Milan Fashion Week opened with a rather retro collection by Frida Giannini of Gucci: she channeled the early '70s with a sea of knits, suedes, cropped sailor trousers and marching band jackets. There was also a lot of denim — probably more than we're used to seeing on the runway, but, whatever, let denim have its day in the sun if it wants.

The Japanese-inspired prints and fabrics are a definite highlight, as were the exquisitely tailored jackets and lush cocktail dresses. Here's the collection in full:
