Gorgeous New Top Model Contestant Has Vitiligo

Latest

Chantelle Young, a contestant on the forthcoming 21st Cycle of America’s Next Top Model, has the skin condition vitiligo. In Chantelle’s case, the depigmentation of her skin seems to be mostly symmetrical, creating a stunning sort of Rorschach-esque effect that—as Tyra would say—is very editorial.

Chantelle is a 19-year-old from Toronto (which somehow doesn’t disqualify her from being in the running towards becoming America’s Next Top Model) who describes herself as a “vitiligo spokesmodel.”

In her plea video for viewer votes (the new “social media” aspect to ANTM that allows the audience to be the fourth panel judge), Chantelle says that being a contestant on the show is a “lifetime dream,” which sounds ridiculous until you realize that she was only like 7 or 8 when the show first premiered and that you are fucking old now.

She fully embraces her vitiligo saying of the condition, “A lot of people have a story or a background, but mine is painted on my body.”

Cycle 21 of ANTM premieres on the CW in August.
