Jennifer Lawrence? Meh. Bradley Cooper? Whatever. Foggy foresty North Carolina scenery and late 1920s costume design? Count me in.
Lawrence and Cooper have reunited for their third flick together (Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle) and it is, um, romantic? I never much cared for either of their work. The two play a newlywed couple that run a timber business in Depression-era North Carolina, yadda yadda yadda. Can we please look at this beautiful scenery? Ah, the mountains! And the trees! And the three-piece suits for ladies. And the brass upholstery nails. Now that is romantic.
Apparently this was supposed to be directed by Darren Aranofsky and star Angelina Jolie, but that's clearly not the case—Danish Academy Award-winning director Susanne Bier took the helm. The filming took place in 2012, so it's not exactly great that it was sitting for so long. Still, I'll probably watch it, but again for the misty 1920s forest porn.
