Remember when Beyoncé headlined Coachella for a set so memorable, it officially became #Beychella? Her performance transformed the mostly joke-worthy desert festival into a year-defining, cultural moment—and she obviously looked friggin’ incredible the entire time.
It’s been a few months since that fateful April weekend and French fashion mainstay Balmain, a favorite of Bey’s, has taken note. According to Vanity Fair, the label will launch a limited edition line stylized after her Beychella wardrobe—two hoodies and one T-shirt will first become available at Balmain’s flagship store on July 13 in Paris, and then online the following day, July 14. Additionally, the thing is for charity, with all proceeds benefiting the United Negro College Fund.
Balmain Creative Director Olivier Rousteing wrote the following in a press release announcing the collection:
“In my eight years as Balmain’s creative director, I’ve had a lot of incredible experiences and I know that there are many, many more to come—but I can say today, with absolute confidence, that collaborating with Beyoncé on her Coachella concerts is destined to be one of the most important and treasured memories of my career. Why? Because Beyoncé.”
Not sure that anyone is asking “Why?,” but okay!
I’d say take my money here but there’s no way I’ll be able to afford any of this stuff. I will, however, stare at the online store with an envious eye, drool spilling out of my middle-class mouth as I watch the collection sell out in seconds.
